Cartagena 2019
The team have just returned from a successful four days at Cartagena, Spain. Having had work done on the YZF-R1 an YZF-R6 over the winter, the racers were keen to get back in the saddle and try out the bikes. Within a few sessions both riders had found a rhythm around the Spanish track and were enjoying the speed and freedom of two wheels.
Andy, on the R1, put in steady progress, learned the track and became more accustomed the HUGE power and torque of the bike. Winding the throttle to the stop meant the front wheel was rarely in contact with the ground, which was fun, but extremely tiring!
Talan, getting back on the R6 for the first time since losing his finger and shattering his thumb, began with a great deal of caution and took longer to feel settled on the bike. Despite the initial nerves he managed to feel at home on the bike by the end of the four days and is now looking forward to the coming season.
Next time out for the team is the opening round of BMCRC at Brands Hatch on the Indy circuit one rate weekend 9/10 March.
Big thanks to Danny and Darren for the mechanic skills/support at Spain, and to Sarah for helping the launching/catching of the riders and taking care of Talan.
We are excited to be continuing our partnerships with HELD RIDER PROTECTION, FWR Ltd, BDS Racing and Derek Rogers. Also looking forward to working with Yamaha and welcoming ShinyBikeSauce.
